Sukano - Creative Solutions Sukano is a leading international manufacturer of Masterbatches and Compounds for the plastics processing industry. In addition to our core competence in the polyester film and sheet market with PET, PETG and PLA, we offer solutions for Polycarbonate and Polyamide. Founded in 1988 with headquarters in Switzerland, Sukano grew so rapidly that in August 2004 a new 23,000-square-foot manufacturing facility was added in Duncan, South Carolina. Furthermore in 2008 an additional new manufacturing facility will be opened in Malaysia. By developing a wide range of masterbatches designed for use with biodegradable PLA, as well as PET, PETG and PC polyesters, Sukano has ensured that these plastics can be ideally adapted for numerous applications. When developing new products there are now almost no limits on functional creativity. Anti-block and slip masterbatches with wax components and anti-block agents are used in, for example, food and pharmaceutical packaging to ensure excellent slip performance, low adhesion, fast, easy de-stacking and a high degree of transparency. Light protection concentrates protect the contents of the package from UV radiation and protect the packaging itself from discoloration or haze. Antistatic masterbatches prevent dust from gathering on the surface of packaging and avoid the build-up of an electrostatic charge. Nucleating agents facilitate controlled crystallisation and so help reduce cycle times as well as improving the product's mechanical and thermal properties. By using de-moulding agents and melt flow enhancers the specific injection pressure can be reduced. Nowhere is such a wide choice available as in the range of colours, blacks, whites, and optical brighteners. Sukano's portfolio of masterbatches for visual enhancement includes organic and inorganic pigments, soluble colorants and white and black pigments incorporated into easy-to-process, transparent or opaque concentrates for PET, PETG, PCTG, PC and PLA. They are characterised in particular by their excellent dispersion properties, high level of purity and constant processing performance. Additional interesting effects can be produced using the Sukano matting agents and light diffusion products. By using the optical brightener it is easy to achieve a neutral colour tone from a widely scattered cross-section of different flakes. Like the Sukano functional masterbatches, the masterbatches for visual enhancement are approved for food contact use, and many are biodegradable. All Sukano masterbatches can be combined with each other so that the converter has to feed only one concentrate.
